Thought it was time to check back in with you. I just realized that it has now been over two years since 8/23/21 when we first officially started on this journey with the release of our EP Your Story. Mixed feelings thinking about this 'cause 2 years is not a long time but yet it seems in some ways a lifetime ago. It is crazy to think how far we have come since then. We've learned a lot - bad and good. One lesson we learned is be careful who you give your hard earned money to even if they seem reputable. Just because they say they want to help you doesn't mean they really will. The proof is in the pudding and sometimes all you get is the continued promise of the pudding but no actual pudding. We've had lots of blessing too! Back in 2021 Bro and I couldn't have imagined that we would have #1 indie chart songs, several award nominations and multiple songwriting awards. Woohoo what a ride!! Can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for our future! One bonus of our journey is we have made a lot of indie friends along the way and it has been amazing to see the HUGE talent there is in the indie music world - artists, associations, Radio stations, DJS, promoters, bloggers, magazines, you name it..... We wouldn't be where we are if it wasn't for all of you as you have touched our lives with your support and encouragement. We try to give you our support and encouragement back and hope you feel that we are genuine in doing this. To all the radio stations, hosts, DJs and podcasters we have to say a big thank you!! Even if you only played one of our songs once, you have been a part of our success and we are grateful. Thanks to everyone that has added our music to your playlists also! We are very appreciative! This really helps indie artists grow and although I really dislike promoting ourselves and asking for votes, it is a necessary evil in this indie world. We have to give a shout out to TuneDesigner also who has produced several of our releases. They have been a big part of our journey and evolution especially with our country, southern rock and inspirational songs. These guys are fantastic and many of their tune ready tracks have been inspirations to me in my songwriting and a great cure for writer's block. They produced our song "I Hear You Callin'" that received a Josie award nomination for the 2023 awards at the Grand Ole Opry next month and they are also nominated for producer of the year. Another really neat thing that happened recently was we had the privilege of having our first ever radio interview with the sweet and talented Robbie Harte on her KB Country Crops show. That was a lot of fun! Her show is aired on KB Radio 91.7 FM Sundays at 4:00 pm EST (www.kbradio.online). Some artists pop into the chat room during the show so listen in and join the chat! We haven't been the best at promoting ourselves to build up a fan base. Bro and I work full-time jobs and it takes a lot of our "free" time just to create and promote our song releases and stay connected on all our platforms. Spotify streams - over 543,000 in 62 countries; YouTube views - over 21,000; TikTok likes - over 104,200 A little personal note - I had surgery back at the end of July and have the praise report there was no cancer!! I am still working through some other health issues but I am feeling hopeful. I highly recommend hydrotherapy! My therapists tell me the Holy Spirit is in the water and I can definitely feel that. In the midst of our busy and crazy lives we are still working on new music which includes a funk song, a Christmas song and more! Really excited for you all to hear them so stay tuned!
